This may be a dumb question but I am not real “Board” literate. Is there a way to change the way the posts are listed so the most recent is on the top and not the bottom? I am getting tired of scrolling all the way to the bottom to see what the latest message is.
Timberline Echoes05/05/2005 at 4:24 pm #1740503Sorry, I don’t believe so.
You only have a couple options you can change (upper-right are of this page), but not to flip the order.
I suspect it’s 6 of 1 and 12*.5 of another, if they were flipped then you’d have to scroll to the bottom when you don’t know what the original subject was.05/05/2005 at 8:05 pm #1740504I’m a member at another board that uses this type of system where it will automatically take you down the thread to the last post you haven’t read… That’s really nice!
I would imagine the new message boards would have features like this… I’ll see if I can find out.

This is a feature that would need to be enabled for the entire message board. It’s a system change, and not an individual user preference setup.
Personally speaking, I like how it is now. I find it somewhat confusing to read everything in reverse chronological order. I would find myself starting at the bottom and then scrolling back up to the top.
In our current system, I just push my keyboards “end” button which brings me to the bottom of the thread. I know the recent posts will be at the bottom. Sometimes I have to scroll up a bit to catch the last few posts.
05/06/2005 at 4:14 pm #1740506I didn’t know that you could simply push the “End” button. That would be a big help on the long long threads!
05/06/2005 at 4:20 pm #1740507Wow! [End] button … no help from Bill Gates this time, just the WGA.
My vote …. leave it as is …. The [End] is a much better solution than the “pain” of always dealing with the fact that you can’t see the original subject up top and adjusting my feeble mind to reading up hill.

Ok, I looked it up … Rolling On The Floor Laughing … I hate these stupid symbols. It’s not my fault … I have one of those “pay as you go” cell phones, so I don’t get to abbreviate much.
