i have found it really hard to read the pda out in the sunshine. is there a way to make them brighter? or a different color or something?
I’m constantly ducking under cover or changing the contrast on mine. It’s the pits and only got worse after I added the screen protector…Hmmmm….scratches or scratch-free? Uhmmmm…scratch-free and duck & cover.
We had to do the same thing. We started using my wife’s PDA at 1st without the screen protector, but decided to add it. After adding it does get alittle harder to read in the bright sun, but Id rater cover with my hand or duck into the shade instead of a scratched screen also.

It’s a pain … IF you happen to be using a fairly good-sized geo-bag … try sticking it in there and close your zipper a bit (don’t say it) and try looking at it then.
Luckly for me, my wife is falling in love with my Zire 31 (which has the problem); so she’s getting the 31 and I’m awaiting a delivery of a Tungsten E2, which has a higher-tech transflective display, which pretty much makes the problem go away.
Umm… you could go high tech with the Transreflective display, or you could go low-tech and get the simple LCD display, like in a Palm III or Palm V. Great deals to be had on E-bay.
