I was just wondering if I were to use my GPS in Milwaukee and Chicago from time to time would I be better off with city select or Metroguide?
Thanks.

that depends, which legend do you have, the blue legend greyscale or the legendC color model? the reason i ask is because the the color model supports autorouting but the original one don’t. which means that if you have the blue legend it wouldnt be worth it to buy city select.
also a side note, it has been rumored that garmin is discontinuing city select. they are replacing it with city navigator(which currently in V7 region sizes are too large for most gpsr with low memory)
it has also been rumored that this summer they will release Version 8 of city navigatior and have the map segment sizes the same as city select.
I would beleive the rumors because if you look at a few online retailers, most don’t have city select as a stand alone product anymore. you can find it in the auto navigation kits still though.
If you have the blue Legend, it only has 8mB of memory in it. That is not enough to get both Milwaukee and Chicago with either Metroguide or City Select. You may want to consider getting “Mapsource Roads & Rec” because you can probably get enough detail in for both cities.
