For those of us that can’t find anything without our Garmin V leading us there, does anyone have the coordinates for the entrance to the park? Sounds silly but I and some others had a heck of a time finding the entrance to High Cliff.

I’m taking some vacation time this afternoon so I’ll look it up and post mid-afternoon today if nobody else has before I get to it.

07/25/2003 at 6:04 pm #1741871OK… Here’s the DNR web site that shows the park map:
http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/land/parks/specific/highcliff/map.htmUp near the top there’s an intersection of “State Park Road” and “Spring Hill Drive”. Per Garmin’s Mapsource with the Roads & Rec datum, that intersection is N44 10.103 W88 17.359
Good luck!
07/25/2003 at 6:28 pm #1741872Your main entrance to the South End of Devil’s Lake is: N43°24.548′ W89°40.499′. This is where you turn off the main road to go the south beach area where our shelter is located.
The coordinates that Skarolek posted are for the entrance to High Cliff.

Whoops! Yup, that’s exactly what I posted. Guess I read the original request message too fast. Saw “need coordinates” “entrance” “High Cliff” and made some ASSumptions. Sorry…

07/25/2003 at 8:40 pm #1741874As a penalty post, here are two “must visit” coordinates near Devils’ Lake:
N43 21.939 W89 37.264 – Merrimac Ferry
N43 24.856 W89 38.240 – Parfrey’s Glen
If you take the Ferry, the park entrance closest to the south shore picnic area is at N43 24.553 W89 40.498 where State Hy 113 meets South Lake Road.
Sincere apologies for not reading well enough the first time.
