Sometimes it’s hard to check the WGA “recent posts” page on a daily basis. Would it be possible to to have the recent posts page contain new posts from the past 5 days versus just the present day? That would really help those of us who can’t check every day to keep up with all that is happening in the forums.
Just a suggestion… maybe I’m the only one?
Thanks!
03/30/2004 at 1:43 pm #1744142I checked our UBB software settings and I don’t see an option that would let us change the amount of days. Looks like we are stuck with the current days activity.

03/31/2004 at 2:40 am #1744144Thanks for checking into it! Too bad… but still not the end of the world. It’s just incentive for me to check every day!!!

But, you can see the posts from the last 5 days by running a search. Click the “Search” link at the top of the forums page, then select “Since 5 Days Ago” in the “Search By Date” combo box, and finally press the “Perform Search” button. The downside to this approach is that it is slow…

If we switched forum software, this would probably come for free… though such a switch would require the approval of the Board. (Therefore, lobby the Board members if you want the feature added. )
03/31/2004 at 11:17 am #1744146Another approach you might try is to copy the list to a word document when you have a moment available. The word document gives you a “snap shot” that you can go back to later to scan.
It isn’t a “clean” fix but it may capture the data you want.
03/31/2004 at 1:38 pm #1744147I think the easiest solution is just to read the forums on a daily basis

03/31/2004 at 8:58 pm #1744150Hmmm…are we all talking about the same thing?
I thought we were talking about the “Click here to view today’s active topics (all public forums)” which is located just under our logo on the main forums page?
Disregard my above message if you are talking about the “recent logs” page which lists the 200 most recent cache logs in WI.

03/31/2004 at 10:08 pm #1744151Maybe I’m confused.
04/01/2004 at 4:24 pm #1744152In reading all of these posts, I’m not sure any of us know which ‘recent posts’ page GB Paddlers was referring to. I may be looking at this too simplistically, but when in the message board and any of the individual forums, I noticed the ‘preferences’ link near the top right of the page. When I clicked on that, I noticed the ability to change the ‘default topic view’. Here you can change your preferences to ‘show topics from the’ last day, 5 days, 10 days, 30 days, etc.
Again, maybe this isn’t at all what you were referring to, but incase it was, I thought I’d add my $.02.

At this point I’m not sure anyone knows what your questing is regarding. I thought you were talking about the link for today’s hot topics (as I indicated above). Clicking on the link shows you all the forum threads that have new responses for the current date.
04/04/2004 at 3:19 pm #1744155I think I’m more confused than anybody and I asked the question!
We’ll have to drink a beer over it at the campfire and solve all the problems of the world!
