Combining two of my favorite things – biking and geocaching. So while on my annual bike outing to Missouri this year I managed to hunt down ten caches.
Most were along the KADY bike trail That is 240 miles long (no we did not do it all) and a few in Taum Sauk State Park and St. Charles’s historic downtown area.
While this small sample is not a fair comparison to those I have done in Wisconsin, while they were good I think ours (Wisconsins) are better . We seem to do a better job of listing the terrain and difficulty with the proper number of stars.
If anyone does ever get down to the middle section of Missouri, I would recommend bringing your bikes as the KADY trail is very scenic and we left wishing the rain had not moved in so that we could bike more. There are tons of geocaches along the trail and if you don’t mind stopping often, you could bike and cache all day.
I would also recommend the paved bike trail in St. Joe State Park which is a 15 mile loop rollercoaster ride that you would not believe.
So add Missouri to my geocaching states and if anyone is ever headed down there, let me know and I will tell you about the ones I did.
Next year they kick off the big re-enactment of the Lewis & Clark Expedition from St. Charles – looks like it would be a great time to visit.
