We’ve talked about favorite caches. How about an area that a cache was in that introduced you to a new place that you continue to revisit?
For me, it was El Sapo Grande which caused me to discover the Mitchell Park dog park in Brookfield. I now return with Kanook on a regular basis.
Second on the list would be Salute To Stute. While I don’t revisit the Stute farmstead, it was this cache that kicked off my love of hiking around the southern Kettle Moraine. How about your story?

The cache site is called zzzzz ( http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid={96A01953-1DAD-47EB-8FBE-A 556EB1A98A0} ) and located in the Ledge View Nature Center.

11/16/2003 at 4:16 pm #1745917How about the state of Wisconsin. Growing up, hiking and camping took up much of my free time. Even when I got married hiking was a favorite past-time. After buying a house and having a couple of children that all fell by the wayside. It seemed there was always something more important to do.
With the discovery of Geocaching we had a reason to go back to all the parks we used to enjoy. Going back to Paradise Springs, Kohler-Andrae and others after a long absence was a joy. We only have 27 or so finds, but that is 27 times that we have enjoyed the great state of Wisconsin and all it has to offer.11/16/2003 at 5:59 pm #1745918There are many but my favorite previously unvisisted place that I return to (so far)is Gov. Dodge State Park. The first time I went there was to place caches for the 2002 WGA campout. I’ve been back about half a dozen times to maintain a geocache, ride the mountain bike trails, and hike. I probably would never have gone there if it weren’t for geocaching.
11/17/2003 at 2:03 am #1745919Of everyplace I have been, I would say that the “stealth secret boat launch” on the north end of Tichigan was one I would have never found (or revisited) if it wasn’t for Geocaching.

11/23/2003 at 10:50 pm #1745921I would say the small county parks of Door County. We’ve been going up to Door County for 25 years. Since I’ve started geocaching I’ve visited and revisited the county parks up there.
