The Lil Otter is in the process of putting an addition on her house. The consequence of this is that she has been offline since the 17th.

The house work is proceeding well but she’ll be offline a bit longer. She expects that she will be able to respond to your emails early in November.

You mean she doesn’t live in her van??

Actually that might not be too funny, her original plan was to camp out for the entire addition…….. BBBRRRRRRR!!!

It has snowed 3 times already this year up here. Hopefully she doesn’t have any of that going on.

    Burrrrrrr…

It was a welcomed climb up 8′ through my old crawlspace hole to gain access back into my haven.. I elevated my entire A-frame up and had a lower level built underneath. Last night was the first time back into a constant ‘warm’ temp of 55 degrees and I enjoyed crashing on the couch. I had spent the entire time camping out in my driveway in a popup since the 17th of Oct constantly assisting in the build.. a few flurries and some ugly rainy days made for tougher work days but it’s a memory I won’t forget anytime soon. What a rush to see my entire ‘haven’ inching off its foundation and rising over my head. The first time I was inside the upper two stories, I felt like it was swaying (grins) remember.. I have a fear of heights. I was very surprised that I had no drywall cracks and I needlessly packed up most of my home thinking things were going to be falling all over the place as it was lifted and lowered.. the only thing that was ‘out of place’ was a shower curtain that fell. now to focus on unpacking after the ‘move’…

I still have a few more weeks to a month before everything will get back to normal.. I still need a few decks added to the front and back entries as well as the main ‘new’ 2 and a half story A-frame entry addition is complete.

I’m proud of my design and lucky enough to finally find a contractor that was willing to take on the challenge.. most A-frame additions are just slapped on additions that don’t fit within the overall house design.

I had the coolest idea last night.. it would have been so cool to have a deck building party where each would bring a deck 2x4x8 board with their name carved into it.. so just think of me outside today building my back deck entry with my daughter and son-in-law.. which will finally give me a safe way into the house and will then allow my maltese to come on in too (grins) The poor ol’ gal is roughing it down in the lowest level.

I’ll enjoy getting back into geocaching.. but really loved working upon my home and learning more skills.. I know how to mortar now.. so expect a fake rock hide from me soon (grins)

Welcome back Lil Otter! Glad to hear things are coming together for you. It’s been weeks without a cache find? Must be like medieval torture.

As for working all day & then living in a tent the whole time, it reminds me of a song I once heard-
“She is More of a Man than I’ll ever Be”

Hope to see ya on the trail soon!

I just placed two house pictures up in my photo album area for anyone that would like to see what I’ve been up to the last several months..

Kinda brings new meaning to the phrase “raise the roof!”

    Looks great!

But – be careful how one hears the word ‘raze’ when you mean ‘lift’!

Looks like it should have a cross on the roof at the entrance. I can envision two outhouses and some grave stones in the background.

(giggles) no outhouses.. but I did build two matching sheds and a 24×36′ garage.. I can always buy the next lot and put those things there (grins) But I am rustic and have a firepit and hammock right out my back door..

yes.. it does look like a lil church from the side (that’s my bi-level entry)

Looks like enough room to host the next geobreakfast there. Put us down for two!
