05/10/2005 at 4:51 am #1721630How about the post by Mole_n_Opossum? Kinda like a movie critic with a wild hair! :O
 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=99276e8d-2db9-4898-a059-54cf0b2b0c3405/10/2005 at 8:18 am #1749337Wow that’s subtle!
I guess you know where you stand. I’ve noticed logs in other states, especially the west coast are more critical and will really blast caches they don’t like.
Here in the Midwest folks seem to usually keep negative comments to themselves. Even when the cache turns out to be a Glad sandwich holder behind the 6 trees at the local fast food joint they are still polite in the logs. I think the one line short TFTC type log is your best clue in these parts.05/10/2005 at 11:51 am #1749338Well, why don’t they just come out and say how they feel???? (Rolling my eyes here.) LOVED the cache owner’s note in the logs right there. According to their profile, “the boys” are two dogs. How can two dogs be “so disappointed” with a geocache? Give me a break. ~MF 05/10/2005 at 12:47 pm #1749339After looking at his link, and see that every cache he visits has a picture of the cache hiding spot. I kind of hope he doesn’t visit any of my caches, and place a picture ruining the hard work I put in in finding and placing a cache location. I like the idea of a personal caching homepage, but why link it to the log and ruin the caching experience for anyone looking at his homepage. On a side note, I believe that the city of Greenfield has a leash law in city parks. Notice no leaches on “the boys”. I personally know Dr. Edd and it is a good thing he always turns the other cheek and can take justified criticism. Unfortunately one rotten apple spoils the whole bunch. Lost Boyscout 05/10/2005 at 1:20 pm #1749340That cache log does seem pretty harsh. With 33 finds and ZERO hides, I’d chalk it up to inexperience . By looking at the pictures, it looks like a typical hide to me. Nothing notably sucky from what I see Oh well… 05/10/2005 at 2:02 pm #1749341Unfortunately, this caching team has found 4 of my caches. I guess I should be flattered that one of them warranted a red balloon.
 Black: Fun cache to find.
 Red: Great cache!
 Magenta: Couldn’t find it.
 Green: Sux.
My biggest beef here is that his photo’s totally give away the hide. If I wanted that I would have posted a photo myself.I have just now emailed him. Asking him to remove the link to his webpage from the logs to my caches. If he doesn’t then I will be deleting his logs. Uncle_Fun 05/10/2005 at 2:26 pm #1749342Actually, the City of Greenfield has a no dogs policy in our parks. A hefty fine of $350 rewards those who are caught in violation. A young girl was bit in the face last year so the common council wanted to make the fine enough to make people think. 05/10/2005 at 3:44 pm #1749343A “newbie” (ie 3 finds) posted a find for one of my caches this past weekend … they said something to the effect, “finally a cache with good stuff in it, ALL THE OTHER ones we’ve found so far had just junk in them, AGAIN this is our biggest beef with geocaching”. I’m wondering what they mean by “junk”, if they think they’re going to find gold braclets, they’re in for disappointment. And I guess all the other ones they found, would mean 2! 05/10/2005 at 4:56 pm #1749344I wonder what people are considering as “JUNK” I love pins, squished pennies and wooden coins. Sure I have gone to caches and found bottle caps and other garbage in them. It happens! I just take that out and put in a couple other things. It’s not about what’s IN the cache. That’s NOT the sport. It’s FINDING the cache. I have as much or more fun finding the mircos, but it’s nice to find a cache box once in a while too. Sure.. it would be nice to find $5 gift cards in these, but come on already!! Try Treasure hunting with a medal detector. Talk about disappointment after disappointment. Been there, done that, switched to Geocaching!! If people are not
“The Gauntlet” Been there… done that….will do it again !05/10/2005 at 4:57 pm #1749345I must be doing some thing wrong I dont go just for the cache and toys but to see what is in the area like a park or look out or a good ice cream shop all caches are good even the bad ones 05/10/2005 at 4:57 pm #1749346Quote:Originally posted by Cache_boppin_BunnyFuFu:

“The Gauntlet” Been there… done that….will do it again !05/10/2005 at 5:15 pm #1749347not only do they spoil the hiding spots for caches, but if you go to the “travelbug” section of their home page, you could log a whole bunch of bugs for yourself as they didn’t bother to blur the number out. 05/10/2005 at 5:30 pm #1749348Wow, After I read this log I am glad for this person that Geochaching can be a solo sport. She keeps this up she won’t make any friends. Of course she probably doesn’t care about friends in the first place. I have to feel sorry for this one. People have just lost a respect for others. I am not surprised to find out that they are too cowardly to hide their own chache. Might not be able to take their own heat? 05/10/2005 at 5:40 pm #1749349This is a bit off subject … but … it hits me as interesting that someone caching for such a short perior of time (March) with so few finds (33) … would have bothered to setup such an involved website to “rate” caches. Nothing of value in this comment … just find it a bit interesting. 05/10/2005 at 5:56 pm #1749350I didn’t think my observation would bring this much attention, but what the heck I might even make a special trip down to find their first hide if it ever happens. I’m sure it would be something special and “The boys” would be pleased.
