I have finally found a battery that should last more than a weekend in my gps! There may, however, be a few complications.

How much for one of those??? I’ll take 2!! And to think I was going to come up with a hat with a solar/wind powered cell, that hooks into you GPS. Hmmmmm… something tells me that mine might be cheaper, but now as attractive. LOL

I’ll have to give that a try as I place my new cache to be called…

It would be nice if this type of battery came out for high-current use so GPSr users could use them in the cold when other batteries fail quickly.

If you camp in the middle of nowhere for extended periods of time you may want to look at something like this: http://www.911supplies.com/index.cfm?action=cat.productOptions&productID=71020&categoryid=2725
I’ve seen this model for less elsewhere (but they have a good picture), and am not recommending this product or website as I’ve used neither.

I’ve found Energizer E2 lithium (disposable) batteries work well in cold weather, and are convenient when you don’t have a base camp to set up a battery charger and other equipment.
