Anyone going to attend this event?
The Greater Green Bay Challenge will be held from 9 AM to 5 PM on Saturday, July 23rd rain or shine. Event headquarters will be at the West Side Moravian Church fellowship hall and parking lot. This event is FREE and OPEN TO EVERYONE!
The Greater Green Bay Challenge is a city-wide scavenger hunt to showcase the history of our area. There will be 25+ temporary caches in the form of micros, virtuals, regular size and a surprise or two along the way. A VEHICLE WILL BE NEEDED TO FIND ALL THE CACHES! However, several caches will be within 1 mile of the event headquarters.
For those individuals without a GPS unit, you are invited to attend and participate! Learn about geocaching in our short “Intro to Geocaching” class beginning at 8:30 AM in the fellowship hall and head out with an experienced geocaching team and get first hand experience at this exciting game! OR, choose to participate in the “old fashioned” style scavenger hunt… Just use the sheet of clues given out at check-in to find your way to the caches around the city!
For those not attending the geocaching class, the doors will open at 9:00 AM. Please do not enter the building before this time! Also, for those cachers who do not have a Garmin Etrex Legend, you will need to bring your own cord to download from our laptop.
When you’re done, share your experiences with other cachers during a potluck meal from 5 to 6 PM! Bring your own fixings. We’ll have the grills ready for you. We have also secured some nice door prizes that will be given away during the potluck.
In order to have enough materials for everyone, please post a “will attend” note with the number of people by July 20th! Last minute arrivals will still be welcome – however, materials will be limited!
