Mary and I were near Hartman Creek Saturday morning so we stopped in to check out the campsites. They’re still a bit too snowy for camping. The trails were also covered with snow. We could have skied if we would have brought along our x-c skis!

03/27/2004 at 3:39 am #1754474With 49 days left until the campout, the register now shows over 100 teams planning to attend. It will be interesting to see how many more sign on this coming month.
Can you tell i’m excited?
04/10/2004 at 9:02 pm #1754475I have a picture of the group camp sites taken today if someone can explain to me how to post on them on this forum?
04/10/2004 at 11:35 pm #1754476You need to load the photo into a different site that can host the photo. You then copy the url of the photo and past it into your message. In front of the url you type
.
I often host the photos on a archived webpage. I load them to the page, then copy the url for the photo into my message.
If you are having trouble, email them to me and I can post them.

Amy and I went out to Hartman Creek today to check out our campsite as well as the group campsites for the big weekend. Neither of us had been here before and we were tickled with the state park. Beautiful. A number of campers were there camping this weekend (Easter Weekend) and were jealously wishing we were among their ranks… Since we have a pop-up (and a lab) we thought we would just reserve a normal site and drop over to “GEOCAMP” periodically throughout the weekend in order to join in camaraderie!!!
FYI… State Park stickers won’t be available for a few more weeks yet. They are having problems with the vendor that prints them. I buy a conservation patron’s license every year for fishing and hunting and it includeds a state park sticker. The park ranger said another few weeks!
Our campsite!!! (.34 miles from the group site)

The group sites – no more snow! They look beautiful!

04/12/2004 at 2:48 pm #1754478Anyone ever try fishing Allen Lake before? Any tips?
04/12/2004 at 3:33 pm #1754479We have fished Allen Lake many times but not in the last few years. Caught lots of northerns out of the weeds but they were small to medium size, just fun to catch and release. The Searchers
