If you have a funky GPS cable, you might want to bring it. We will have cables available for most GPS units. If you have an odd-ball, please bring it with you. Make sure you mark it with your name so you get it back.

I have sort of broken my cable for my SporTrak Map — I assume there will be one there for this type? I’ve been entering all my coords by hand for a few weeks now.

I’m almost ashamed to say this, as I am one who likes to embrace technology. I have never downloaded cache data into my GPS from a computer before. I’ve burned SD cards with maps from the Topo software before, but I’ve never actually done a data dump with coordinates directly to my GPS…

Is there anything special I need to do to my Meridian Gold before I bring it? I’ll have the cable with me….

    Thanks!

    Jeff,

You’ll be good to go!! That’s a pretty common one…

Thank you, thank you! Now I can move onto the other insecurities in my life!

Speaking of cables and sharing data:

I tried to beam a plucker file on a Palm OS, and all I did was beam the actual Plucker Application. Has someone actually figured out how to beam a plucker html file, or should we all consider bringing our HotSync cable for getting a Spinnerized/Pluckerized version of the campout gpx file? I could bring a CD of Palm Desktop if necessary.

What about Pocket PC / Windows CE people? do those beam with IR?

oh, never mind, a little research on the cache page told me that the Magellan 4 pin will be available — I believe that is what I’ve got (except mine has a big crack in it.)

Nevermind. just figured out how to beam from within the plucker program. I can show you at the campout if you need to give/receive it.

OK — how odd is odd?

I have a Rino120. Last year I had to bring my cable. I can this year, too, if needed. Or will there already be one there?

I’ll be bringing our Rhino cable…so you should be fine.

Excellent! I just about forgot to take it home last time!

I have a question…Garmin GPS 12? I’ve never used a cable and part of the reason is because I can’t find one! Well, on the internet sure but too late for that for tomorrow. I’ve been to Fleet Farm, Scheels, Gander Mountain…then I got sick of driving around for what started to feel like a lost cause.

The Garmin GPS 12 uses the round 4pin connecter, like the Map 60 c/cs, gps map 76’s, Garmin III, Garmin V, etc.

We WILL have a cable that will fit your gps12.
