It is still the same old forum software. It was just a regrouping of the forums into categories… this was something Jeff Rahmlow (aka arcangl7/Team GeoPink) has been asking/pushing for since getting elected to the Board. This is sort of in preparation for switching to new forum software which will require us to assign all forums to categories.
If you don’t like the categories that were selected or have ideas on how to better group the forums, feel free to post here.

When you create a new topic/thread, there is a checkbox at the bottom which lets you get email notification when anyone posts reply messages to it. You currently cannot set it up to send you emails when you reply to a topic someone else has created.
I believe the new forum software does have this notification feature. But you still must post first, you cannot “watch” a topic without participating (though this probably could be added if there was interest).
