We are a family of 4 Tim, Kari, Kamilla (3 years old) and Alivia (4 months old). We’ve done about 4 searches to date. I’ve got my mom involded in it also. We’re looking forward to the weather getting a bit better so we don’t have to bundle the kids up so much. Hopefully we can get to the Event in May to meet some of you.

03/21/2005 at 10:09 pm #1758582Welcome to Wisconsin Geocaching. I am sure that you will discover things about Wisconsin you have never known. You will see new things that Geocaching brings to you. And, you will be reading into places that you never thought you would have in the quest for that darn geocache!

My number one piece of advice … that no one gave me last year (thanks alot) … Come late May, ALWAYS have your bug spray with you, they will start biting mid-cache and never stop until fall. We had it in the car, must get to car, but noooooooooooo, we’re in the woods. We had our “first no find” ever when we went screaming out of the woods on 6/5/04; we were too itchy to do anything more that day.

Prepare yourself for plenty of great times, and few scratches. If the mosquitos are not out, the woodticks will be.
03/22/2005 at 12:09 am #1758585Thanks everyone. I’m “itching” to get out there. I don’t mind bugs too much, ticks on me, no problem but getting them off my daughters? Not liking that thought.
Is there an easy way to find winter friendly caches?
