Rusk Co. is interested in promoting geocaching in their area. They are looking for promotional ideas. Any suggestions?

** Have them contact local scout leaders

** Have them sign up with their own team name and hide interesting caches

** Have them advertise locally for a free geocaching class/outing

    Howdy yuppers.
I posted a similar question a while back at topic http://www.wi-geocaching.com/forums/Forum8/HTML/000904.html
but didn’t get any replies. Maybe you will have better luck? 🙂
Maybe we should be asking for volunteers to go to the Flambeau Mine open house September 10? They are interested in having a geocaching seminar/experiential event, or booth. Because of my work schedule, I can’t commit to doing this, but maybe someone here could do it.

I have read that others have emailed the Yuppers personally regarding their inquiry about a class in Rusk County. All that is needed is a couple seasoned local cachers and some help to put on a class.
If they want to promote Rusk County, a possibility is to check out Northern Ontario, Canada for ideas. They are in their second year of promoting Northern Ontario through geocaching with caches and prizes by local sponsers. See http://www.geocachingontario.com They have placed 66 caches and sponsered 3 events in the past two years.
They don’t have to go on this grand a scale, but could gleen some good ideas here. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.
