What are the feelings of the group on allowing multiple finds to be posted on multi caches? I’m talking about several legs which are part of one published cache, not several micro’s which are individually published leading to one final grand cache.

This has been suggested / requested on a 4-step multi-cache we have had out for a year. It is quite spread out in a large nature area, and takes 2 to 3 hours to complete (or more, in some cases!).

    Thanks for the input.

The HIDER of the cache determines the logging practices for that cache.

If you didn’t intend this to be multiple-logged, then I don’t see any reason why you should start now.

I like multiple logs on some that are very difficult, because there is more incentive to some people to spend time doing a long multi. I just finished putting out a 10 stage multi where I have four logs because I didn’t want people to not do it because they thought it would be too much time and energy for one find.

But I definitly think it should be the hiders decision.

The GC.com requirement would be that each stage would need it’s own log book in order for each stage to be scored as a find.

1 log book for the whole multi would equal 1 find. You would need to put a log book in each stage if you allow them to be logged seperately.

I have log books in four different stages.

Our Solar System Series has logs at most every stage. We decided to do it this way as we knew the caches would be a little more challenging so we thought it would be nice to reward the cacher for the extra efforts involved with the series.

I agree that it is totally up to you the cache owner which way you would like people to do it. Bottom line is don’t give in to the pressure if you don’t feel it is the right thing to do.

unless i am with a group of people, i won’t attempt a multi with more than 4 stages. i am most likely not to find the last stage and will have wasted the time i spent looking. i don’t mind logging a no find for a single where i spend under a half hour. but if i have spent more than an hour on a cache, i want to log a find. however, many people like the challenge of a well done multi. don’t change because of wussy’s like me.

We have done them both ways: all day events with a single log Gee, I’m a Tree! or WHO WANTS TO PLAY CLUE? and all day events with multiple logsFeel The Need For Greed . If the cache is set up well, as these were, it can be great fun either way.~tb
