I’ve heard gunfire the past two mornings, and saw hunters yesterday. It’s that time of year again to be careful and visible in the woods. Wicket and I both have orange vests!
Does anyone know what’s in season right now?
Early Canada goose season runs Sept. 1-15
Black Bear hunting season runs Sept. 7 through Oct. 11.
Early archery deer hunting seasons opens Sept. 17
And, I see that there is no bag or season limit on opossum, skunk or weasel:

Mouringin Dove season is also open now and grouse season opens in norhtern zone on 17th
rabbit season……..no, duck season……..rabbit season…..duck season….
I’m fairly sure upland birds will be opening soon, too. Grouse, chukkar, pheasant, etc.
Not too much to worry about with those, though. The hunters need to be pretty much on top of those to shoot them. And shot doesn’t travel too far in the woods so being hit accidentally isn’t TOO much of a problem.
