Hello! New Geocacher here. Family (including dog) is loving these new adventures!

I was thinking of placing a cache and I have some questions relating to WDNR managed lands and permission. Does one need permission for all WDNR managed lands? How do I find who to ask permission from? On this site’s page on hiding a cache it says to ask if it is on private land and what areas one can not place caches. When I go to the forums it looks like the DNR is coming up with formal policy but looks like this has been going on for a long time.

The 2 areas that I’m considering for placing caches are not in State Parks or a Natural Areas. The first spot I’m considering is the White River Marsh Wildlife Area (not Sedge Meadow NA#367 or Prairie/Tamarack NA#368) in Green Lake County. There is all ready a cache in this area but well north of where I would like to put one. The second spot is an area mananged by DNR labled as “Extensive WL Habitat” also in Green Lake County.

Can anyone out there help me?

    Thanks!

I have a small place in princeton and have been out to White river marsh. This is a good area for caches.thousands of acres.
2 yrs ago I talked to a dnr guy out there, and he saw no problem with them. But that was 2 yrs ago.Give it a try and I will visit:>
