Is anyone working to set up a Wisconsin Delorme Challenge cache? The Delorme challenge is to find a cache on each page of Delorme’s Wisconsin Atlas & Gazetteer. Several states including Illinois (GCREG1) and Missouri (GCQA2X) have them. I would like to see a challenge for Wisconsin but do not feel it is appropriate for a person living outside Wisconsin to set it up. If no one is currently working on one, is anyone interested in setting one up? I have done some preliminary checking of page contents and would be glad to share/give it to someone or work with someone to establish the cache.
Look forward to hearing if there is interest in a Wisconsin Delorme challenge.

But that would be a great excuse to go caching in parts of the state I’ve never been to…..

* * * * * * * * * *01/24/2006 at 5:38 pm #1760917I might be missing something but what’s the difference from this and the “Topic: Stats Page – a new look”?
As I see it looks like a way to get people to go to the 72 Counties and actually get a smiley for doing it.
Am I wrong?
Nothing against the idea just wondering what the difference beside the smiley.
01/24/2006 at 6:51 pm #1760918Same thing. Only difference is there are 81 pages requiring finds.
01/24/2006 at 6:58 pm #1760919Would past geocache finds on a DeLorme page count, or would this be some sort of “contest” cache with a start date some time in the future?
As pcfrog indicated, the stats “page” (forum topic) could just be modified to add a column to track this for those who are into it. Someone would just have to place a cache and only give the coordinates out to folks they could verify found a cache on all the pages…
01/24/2006 at 7:35 pm #1760920I am thinking to make it fair and equal to all, even if you already have half the counties/Delorme zones done, you WILL have to start over unless it only contains one cache
01/24/2006 at 8:19 pm #1760921As to when the cache is found to count, it depends if you view this as a contest or recognition. If it is a contest to be ftf, then start when it is posted. If it is recognition for caching through out the state, then previous finds should be allowed. My personal preference is to allow previous finds. Illinois has two levels of recognition on there page. Gold for all finds after posting of the challenge and Silver for using previous finds.

Also congrats to RickBlick & Chick on being the FTF (GOLD) for the Wisconsin Geometry 101 Challenge! They will be going out to pick up their prize shortly! Congrats again!
