What happened to the recent logs? I hope it was something benign… or was it murdered like Brew’s crawler? I’m missing one of my favorite features.
I agree I would cruise the message boards first then hit the logs to check out who’s caching and where. Or where some new caches are approved at etc. Hope its just broke for now.
Oh! It look the process that performs the recent log updates has crashed or something. I don’t think anything has changed on gc.com that would mess up our harvester.
I will look into it tonight…
As I guessed, it appears that the recent logs harvester script just got stuck. After restarting it, it has successfully grabbed new logs over the last hour. Thanks for the heads up guys.
I should mention that the recent logs feature will be “new and improved” on the new website… changes made include:
– Adaptive update intervals that should allow us to grab more logs / have less missed logs
– Out of state logs are grabbed for our members
– Recent logs available from member profile pages (shows recent logs for a particular member)
– Ability to filter/search the recent logs
– Some recent logs statistics… i.e. how many Wisconsin related logs have there been today, yesterday, over the past week…[This message has been edited by jvechinski (edited 04-25-2006).]
