I’m really bummed… Goodness knows how much I REEEEEALLY appreciate all the WGA does for WI cachers, but having the events on holidays is making it impossible for me to get to them. That makes really me sad.

I am what I would call a married but single cacher and when holidays come up, I need to spend them with my non-caching family. It would have been so kewl to be there at the campout, but my Mom has only me here in WI, so I needed to spend time with her. On the 4th, my only sibling is in town and he has no interest in caching, though he has gone out with me.

Just wanted to share that, BUT….like I said, I DO appreciate the events the WGA is offering.

    THANKS BUNCHES!!
    You guys ROCK!!

At the campout we did question a member of the board as to the selection of weekends. Unfortunately this year’s weekend was selected due to the availability of the park.

Being that geocaching is a family sport, I know that everyone realized the issues with the conflict. I know that we requested that next year we work hard to have the campout back on the 3rd weekend so there is no conflict with the holiday (and hopefully it would be a bit warmer also).

TOTALLY understandable that dates are chosen based on availablilty of the location… just was bummed I’m missing everything. I WISH my family was interested, but I’m the “Outdoors Black Sheep” of the family. LOL

Whatever weekend you pick, there will be people who can’t go. My daughter’s big dance recital weekend is always the third weekend in May. So if you have it then, we probably can’t go. Such is life.

And I work every other weekend. Been lucky so far, but there have been many events that I miss out on.

Fu Fu, we’ll just host our own event, and schedule it so only we can attend!

Don’t worry Anne, Seth and I figured out the solution to your dilmena.

When you die, we’ll tan your hide, and turn your ….ah …. real TB into ahhhh …. real TB. ??

Then we will pass it around to all the events!

Does that mean she’ll be attached to the plastic holding your ashes?

(Bec solved her Mother’s Day dilema by bringing her mother along with her)

In our case a short visit to the pottery shop in Fish Creek, made Mrs EnergySaver very happy … best Mother’s day gift I ever had her pick out for herself. I must agree it’s a very attractive cheese tray … as long as I don’t touch it, all should be well.

Nope… just means I’ll be a big fat, FLAT piece of tanned hide, roaming around the world. ROFLMBO HEY…then MAYBE I might actually get to Austrailia??!!??!! LOL

PS See ya in Texas MB!! A long darn way to go to say “HI…how are ya?!”, but…what they hey! Why not!

Sounds like you should come up to Rock Island, conveniently scheduled between Father’s Day weekend and Independance Weekend…

I was planning on it, but I work thru til Friday nite and would only have Saturday nite to be there. This holiday would be fine with me since I don’t have a dad or dad-in-law to celebrate the holiday with and we don’t have children. 🙁
