I just purchased a Garmin 60CSx, maybe too much unit to begin with.
I downloaded the Garmin CD and the US maps onto my laptop. Couldn’t get the small map I selected to transfer to the unit…kept getting the message that my GPS did not allow such transfers…
Any ideas of what I am doing wrong
I’m sure someone who’s more of a computer brain than myself will jump in and help you, but for now…are you planning to come to the WGA picnic on Saturday? There will be tons of people that can help with your unit and computer. Bring them along, as well as your software and you’ll learn a lot! If you aren’t able to make it, may I suggest you contact a cacher in your area for help…hey Cachew…got any ideas for our new friend?!
Is the GPSr set up to receive via a usb cable or some other method. I know I had problems with my 60CS the first time because the setting was wrong.
If I’m not too late…
I have the same set up and struggled with it too. My problem is that I didn’t select the map with the map tool. once I did that it was lickety split via usb.
Before I connected the GPSr, I made sure that all the software was installed and I also ran updates. Once that was done, I plugged it in and WinXP found it.
Did you need to unlock the code for the cd
Also, check your baud rates and make sure they match.
