Some well know cachers will be on the 9pm Channel 6 / Milwaukee news tonight with Vince. They don’t seem to be spilling the beans, so I’m doing it for them.

Thanks for the heads up Ron. The world famous cachers were of course the Ecorangers, and they did a good job giving tips and pointers to Vince C. as they hunted the Royal Oaks Park (GCVBYF) cache. There is also a new cache that the Ecorangers placed in honor of Vince in the same park (GCYJD2).

The only weird thing was the family photo shown at the beginning of the segment with Tami in the Earth Angel costume. Why wasn’t the Professor in some sort of graduation cap and gown? Or in a suit with a bowtie smoking a pipe in front of a blackboard? 😀

I was also pleasantly surprised to see Tami pulling out a compass when she got close to the cache (back to my rant about geocachers not using compasses from last week). The compass pointed them right to the cache, or at least that’s what they made it look like on TV…

Tami indicated to me that this is actually a Two Part “episode” … so watch again November 2nd at 9pm (pending something changing).

I have to agree with what Tami said in an email to me, which is that Vince is a really down-to-earth and easy guy to talk to. When you’re out there with him, you feel like your hang’en with any other geocacher … if you ignore the camera and interesting looks from mugglers … LOL

Actually Professor was in a cap and gown. I remember when my son took the picture for them and said something about Professor’s cool robe and funny hat. Then when I got to wear my cap and gown (in May) he asked why my cap was different. I told him when you earn a PhD you get to wear a funny octogon hat (I believe the dark shades are optional) 🙂

I’ve had some email conversations with Vince and he does seem like a really nice guy.

Oops, I guess I missed that. 😳 But in my defense, his cap and gown blend nicely into the background and the angel outfit is so very distracting. 🙂

I suspect that the older segments (such as the one I was in) will not be added … they seem to only go back so far on content on their new website, which just started up the other week.
