After more then 3 1/2 years volunteer geocache reviewer, I’ve decided to pull the plug.
My personal life seems to be getting very busy lately, and I haven’t been able to keep up with the mass amounts of geocaches submitted this summer.
Changes in geocaching trends have caused parts of the reviewing job to be not so appealing to me any longer.
WI will be left in the very capable hands of Cheese-Wis and WGA2.
It’s fun to think back of the thousands of caches I’ve reviewed over the past few years. It’s been an honor to serve in the roll of a reviewer for all these years.I’d like to thank the WI area Geocachers who were so nice to me, and were willing to work with myself and the other admins to make our job easier.
10/27/2006 at 12:43 am #1766493Thanks Brian and enjoy your retirement.
10/27/2006 at 2:15 am #1766494Thanks for everything you’ve done for geocaching in Wisconsin! 😀
10/27/2006 at 2:26 am #1766495Thanks for all the work you’ve done at reviewing caches and previously governing the WGA. Best wishes for the future.
10/27/2006 at 5:05 am #1766496Thanks, Brian. We all appreciate your efforts.
10/27/2006 at 10:08 am #1766497Thanks for your work.
10/27/2006 at 10:34 am #1766498Thanks for all the work.
10/27/2006 at 12:48 pm #1766499Brian, thanks for assisting so many people to have so much enjoyment outdoors. You were a dedicated, balanced and courteous reviewer right at the time when it was needed most for the young sport of geocaching.
10/27/2006 at 1:28 pm #1766500Even more thanks 😀 . There’s a small body of people who’ve given a lot to our game. Without you we wouldn’t be out there every weekend in the valleys and the dales, the swamps and the woods seeking our esoteric version of treasure.
10/27/2006 at 1:59 pm #1766501Thanks for your hard work and always being willing to answer my stupid questions. You better retire the WGA profile or at least have it forward to someone else … as it’s been such an ingrained habit to click on it when I have questions.
10/27/2006 at 2:26 pm #1766502Thanks for everything Brian. Enjoy the retirement. You should have much more time for caching now.
10/27/2006 at 6:14 pm #1766503Thanks. Now you can go find many, many caches without the added insight of reviewing them first!!!!
10/27/2006 at 8:09 pm #1766504Thanks for your service Brian.
As only the second reviewer ever for the state of Wisconsin, you helped define the procedures followed by future reviewers as the sport of geocaching evolved and grew. I still remember getting trained by you as a backup reviewer many moons ago… it was clear then that you took this responsibility seriously and wanted to thoroughly review all caches submitted to keep the quality of geocaches placed in Wisconsin at a high level.
You also managed to treat everyone fairly. While there were many controversies over the years, all were handled tactfully and without personal attacks (at least the ones that I know of ;)). How you managed to keep your cool and just not go off on some people (or quit the reviewer position in protest!) for 3 1/2 years amazes me…
You’ve set the bar high for the reviewers that follow in your footsteps… enjoy your retirement. 8)

As Albert Einstein once said, “Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted.”
Thank you for all your time and energy in your role as an approver, as well as all the time you have dedicated being on the WGA Board.
I bet you have approved thousands upon thousands of caches over the period of time as an approver, helping advance this hobby as well as keeping the cacher’s safety in mind. I extend to you a HUGE thank you for it!

10/27/2006 at 9:39 pm #1766506Well, you’ve finally gone and done it…. good for you.
I must say that I’ve learned a lot from working with you. I’ve always admired your ability to craft e-mail messages that came across as positive, often when they contained bad news.
Your geocache reviewing efforts will be greatly missed. Maybe now you will finally have more time to dedicate to geocaching, WGA and the BOD? 😉
If you get any admin-related e-mail, feel free to forward it to my account and can take care of it.
