      I’m hoping someone on here is a Palm expert who can help me out. I have an old M-100 with a cradle that I was using until it failed to communicate with my PC. I have already bought a new Palm, but I figured I could give the old one to someone who wanted to try paperless IF I can get it to work again.

      When I try to sync it, pushing the sync button on the Palm causes HotSync to start on both the Palm and the PC, and both devices try to communicate, but never manage to link up. I had the failure occasionally for a while, but now it is consistent. If anyone has any ideas what is happening here, let me know. I’m guessing a bad cradle, but a new cradle will cost more than the $8 I paid for the whole setup, plus I don’t want to give away something that is going to be a problem for someone else. Any advice would be appreciated.

        does the m-100 use the same cradles as the m500? I may have a spare cradle.

        I would take it and look at it, and then give it away to someone at one of our paperless training sessions if we get it working reliably.

          The M100 cradle is considerably different than the M500 cradle, as you would expect, given that M500 has rechargeable batteries and charges through the sync cable, which the M100 is on AAA batteries (I think this one was produced in 1996). If you think you can get it to work, we could exchange it at the next event or the next time I’m in south central Wisconsin or you are in SE Wisconsin. Whatcha think?
