Trekkin’ was at a conference across state, so we wouldn’t have been out caching anyway. But with over two feet of snow, it was all I could do to keep ahead with the shovel! I can think of quite a few caches around here that won’t be easily found for some time now.
My whole body aches from a day with the shovel, too. When I was out this morning, a neighbor was blowing everyone out with his snowblower. He got homemade cookies from me this afternoon. He’s the closest thing to an angel I’ve seen in some time!
02/25/2007 at 11:51 pm #1770792This was our second weekend in a row with no caching. Last weekend we had prior commitments and this weekend was snow up the wazoo. So needless to say I am not a happy camper. Just ask the wife about this. I was tempted to grab the GPSr and walk around out side for awhile today…..Oh well, we will have to wait for next weekend, and hope for better weather.

Great neighbor! I snow blowed out a neightbor this morning and actually got a complaint about where I put the snow. Although I can’t eat cookies, a simple thank you for saving my back (and the rest of his sorry arse)would have been nice. I bet his back gets sore the NEXT time we get a big heavy wet snow. I think I will wave to him from my front window while sipping a hot cup of coffee. 😈
02/25/2007 at 11:59 pm #1770794I took down 14 in River Falls / Hudson. I would have gotten twice that but the weather turned…. 👿

Hey Jay,
That was a really nice thing to do! Too bad he didnt appreciate it. I worked my tail off today, and came home to find that my neighbor had cleared all my snow for me!!!! Awesome guy. My daughter is making chocolate chip cookies right now, and we will take em over in a little bit.
It is good to have good neighbors.

02/26/2007 at 1:04 am #1770796I was trying to remove all the snow today so I could go get a couple caches in. When i heard a big snap and found the chain lying on the ground. So I had to remove the snow the old fashioned way.
After that I was too tired to go tromp throughout the snow.
02/26/2007 at 1:33 am #1770797Friday early afternoon, I had planted 13 caches (when there was hardly any snow on the ground). The 13 caches were all temps. that I put out for kids/adults to do during a 10 hour ice-fishing contest on Saturday, at Little Cedar Lake where I grew up. Little did I know we would get a ton of snow which made it an extra challenge. I did have alot of fun introducing geocaching to alot of newbies. Turns out we couldn’t find one geocache that I had hidden in the marsh on the ground. I’ll have to make a return visit when the snow melts. I’m already working on ideas for next year’s hides.
So to answer your original question, yes I did geocache. I had also planted a night geocache which turned out to be a big hit.

02/26/2007 at 3:53 am #1770798I found my Truck in the snow.. does that count??
02/26/2007 at 4:06 am #1770799I was able to grab a few caches this weekend but I’m in New Jersey where the snow just hit us and the return flight is already cancelled.
02/26/2007 at 4:08 am #1770800We went out yesterday and grabbed some of the Cache to Eagle series. (I had a meeting today and Julie worked last night, so today was out.) I love caching in the snow and ice.
02/26/2007 at 5:35 am #1770801I went on a Appleton/Neenah/menasha Run with Marc_54140 and Team Honeybunnies. we managed about 12. Then I went out with Coastiegirl04 on Sunday to get that pesky number 800. All in all a great weekend, with the weather not cooperating.

02/26/2007 at 5:44 am #1770802Well the snow has tappered to a flurry and the roads were pretty clear so I went out and got a couple of night geocaches. Only need 5 more until my #100 milestone now. Maybe tomorrow I will get #100 it if the gods are willing and the creek don’t rise. 😀
02/26/2007 at 1:49 pm #1770803We hadn’t prepared for technical difficulties. Our dial-up connection doesn’t work without a phone. AT&T has been working on repairing our line for the past few days(???) making it necessary to go to the library for WiFi access. Saturday, after getting the car stuck twice within 2 blocks of the house, we pulled out a half dozen old VHS & DVD movies and resigned ourselves to being homebound.
02/26/2007 at 5:20 pm #1770804I happened to have a couple extra hours in at work during the week, so I took off at 3pm on Friday … we hit some caches in Sheboygan Falls. I knew the storm was coming, but we had the itch … so I’m glad we scratched it on Friday 🙂
Spent the rest of the weekend reading a great sci-fi thriller … Monster by Frank Peretti. Highly recommend the book … once you get about half way through it involves GPS receivers big time. I’m tempted to plant some geocaches that follow the storyline and “topographical flow” of the book … hmmmmmmm 🙄
02/26/2007 at 11:36 pm #1770805Yep. we shuffled through the snow in Marshfield on Sunday finding 5 caches and we also met up with a couple of new grandparents aka “The Bandits” Big Congrats to them and a great time visting was had.
