I was approached by a friend of mine, a cacher from Preston,MN that attended a CITO Event that I hosted in Winona,MN last December. She is a newspaper reporter and she learned that the city of Lanesboro is having an Earth Day Fair on April 28th and she wanted to know if I’d organize a CITO Event in conjunction with the other activities that are going on that day. The Eagle Bluff Environmental Center is organizing the fair, so I talked at length with the organizer, and explained the synergies that exist between the two functions and she obviously thought it was a great idea.
So last night I got the Event page typed up and submitted. I got an e-mail from the Minnesota Reviewer this morning explaining why the Event page wasn’t going to be published. See in the page, I stated that it was open to both cachers and non-cachers. That’s a no-no. According to him,CITO events can only ‘be held by cachers for cachers’. Needless to say my reporter friend was not very happy when I forwarded that e-mailed to her.How stupid is this policy, basically I need to check a person’s ‘credentials’ before I let them pick up garbage.
Just my opinion. And just like my old man told me once, opinions are like colons, everyone gets one. 😀 (something like that)

I know I asked about combing Adopt-a-highway and CITO and got an overwhelming thumbs up from the folks over there.

At my CITO i’m inviting non-cachers to come out, like the Parks and Rec People, People i work with.. most likely won’t show up but still putting the invite out there!

It appears to have been worked out. Cache Page
03/28/2007 at 12:32 am #1872239He made me change the non-cacher part to novice cachers in order to get it approved. It should not be a mystery why I live in Minnesota but I do an overwhelming amount of my caching elsewhere. There is this twin cities ‘clique’ if you are not with them, your against them.
