The black bears are really out in our area. On Thurs I saw a mamma with 3 tiny cubs at 9:30 a.m. I had to stop my vehicle for them to cross. They were cute little buggers…
Today we were out doing a cache and crossed paths with a good size bear.. he/she stared at us for a while and then took off running.
Guess they are not as nocturnal as some might think.

Never saw bears in the wild, just their tracks. We would like to see some……..from the car
There has been bear activity around the Stevens Point area as well. Lisa actually had to stop her car on one of the main drags in town to avoid hitting one! The bear took off into Plover Springs Park which is across the street from the elementary school and less than a half mile from our home in town.
Back in the day, one of things for fam’s to do was to go to the dump in Winchester ( up by the TE’s ) and watch the bears come feed. Can remember about 8 there one night.
