We decided to do a little caching on the way to and from Mt. Horeb where I had a storytelling gig today. I checked out caches last night that would be easy to get to and find, and one we tried to grab on our way was the Eastbound Lyndon Station rest stop. Got there and looked and looked and looked far too long for a difficulty 1. It had recent, like 10 days or less, logs online.
So I go to check on it tonight when logging our others and it has completely vanished! Not archived or anything. Dick says it was a figment of my imagination, but I claim I couldn’t have made up coords that put us at a logical ground zero for one like that.
What happened, do you think?
06/18/2007 at 2:47 am #1876197If you are talking about GCT56R, it was archived today, the 17th.
06/18/2007 at 12:19 pm #1876198I thought I’d read logs on all our possibles, what a dork! Doesn’t the page still show up for awhile, though?
Too bad, it is nice to have these at rest stops for travelers. We were thinking there should be one at the eastbound one near us, maybe we’ll work on that.

No, once archived, it should be gone. The only way is to figure out who hid it and look at their profile. I’ve lost a couple this way too.
06/18/2007 at 6:18 pm #1876200Actually the cache listing is still there, but it isn’t included in a “keyword” or “location” search. You have to specify the waypoint name or other specific info on the cache. If you are using GSAK, double clicking the cache will also open the online page, even if archived.

Correct, thats why i said you could figure out who hid it as a possible solution because it will still be listed under their profile.
06/23/2007 at 1:52 am #1876202😆 Man I hope you visited the mustard museum while in Mt. Horeb!
06/23/2007 at 2:08 am #1876203We did. Spent the entire afternoon there. I think I tasted every mustard they had in the place.
06/23/2007 at 3:27 am #1876204We didn’t have time after storytelling and caching, but I want to go back and check the place out. I did see it. Does that count? 😀
