Am guessing he is staying elsewhere right now, since Rushford was hit bad by flooding Sunday.

If anyone has heard from him, please check in!

I saw the flooding went into the first floor of his apartment building and he is on the second floor. But people are not being allowed back in due to the clean-up that now must take place, as well as checking basements and foundations for soundness, highway bridge inspections, getting utilities up again, etc.

Please zap me a PM with his cell if anyone has it.

    Thanks!!

He replied on another thread earlier today that they are in a hotel… The thread Anyone else under water?

He and Bismarck are okay. He posted elsewhere, as mentioned. It’s really quite an unbelievable mess around here right now. People who live in this area are used to some of this flooding every spring, but this is kind of staggering.

Here’s hoping lagrac can get home soon. I would imagine Bismarck is none too happy at the moment. We own a cat, too, and can only imagine!

lagrac!!! Holy %!$@$@! Ya scared me half to death with the very odd area code phone number!! LMAO~~ I figured some Nigerian was personally calling to have me help funnel money from the country!!!

Glad to hear you’re well. You know Rushford is in rough shape with clean-up, right? Like sewer all over… bad water… etc? Enjoy where you’re at. OR… if ya need a tent… I have plenty! LOL!

And, thanks all, for the info. 😀

      Hope all is well

Yes… the reports of my demise are not true. There is a reason I live in Rushford and I only work in Winona. What a zoo!!! I’m going to try to run the National Guard blockade that they have set up on 43 in the morning and go back into Rush ford. I left my Palm in my apartment!! Just an FYI, if anyone is headed over this way to cache, might want to do some research ahead of time. I have cache in Stockton,MN that I doubt very seriously if it’s still there. There is one at the Rest Area at Enterprise (Hwy 90 East near Lewis ton) that Rest Area is closed indefinitely…. oh well that an 11th letter.second letter. cache (good riddens) 😀

We already did all those, anyway! 😉 Just kidding. Glad you’re okay. What about your new earthcache on Sugarloaf? Is it so wet we’ll die trying to get up there? We were going to try for it today, but Trekkin’ had a meeting at school that went longer than expected.

You know what? You *can* cache without the Palm! Don’t risk pain or arrest! Take care! Hope you can return to the mostly dry comfort of your own home soon.

        Here’s the latest from Rushford,MN:

Our water supply has been contaminated with e-coli bacteria, so after work last night, I had to find an alternative method for showering. I took about 20 bottles of the water they gave me into the shower, Bismarck being such an inquisitive monkey just had to see what I was doing. He took one look at me and was like ‘I’m outta here’ and went back into the living room 😀 .

Our post office got flooded, so I went to Peterson today to get my mail. Made me feel a little better to see my new Bling from Labrador was there as well as my pin and sticker from Earthcache.org letting me know that I’m now a Silver Earthcache Master.

All else is well, I’ve got to work tomm. but I’ll be doing some volunteer work in the community Sunday morning (and some caching that afternoon) All work and no play makes Brett a dull boy!

Well Brett i’m glad to hear your still doing alright! i hope not to much damage happened to your home! good luck with the clean up! if i didn’t live on the other side of the state i would be there helping out along with ya!!
        Stay Safe!!

Showering with e-coli contaminated water is very unlikely to cause illness (unless you are drinking the shower water). Personally, I would just shower with that water and use the bottled water for cooking, toothbrushing and drinking. This will also flush some of the infected water out of your pipes.

The only concern I would have is if your water table is still so high that the added water from a shower would allow further contamination of your water.

        Best of Luck!

You know Doc, I was thinking the same thing, but with all my ‘Geostripes’ (Geocaching related scrapes and scratches) on my legs, I thought that I better not. Our gas is turned off too, so I’m not able to heat up any water. I more than accustomed to cold showers (visions of reddevil_35 prancing in my head) 😛 But this is ridiculous!
