Hi all,
Please join me in offering congrats to DOC. on hitting the 1K milestone last week. She has been finding them at a furious pace lately, and has also put out a lot of great caches in western Wisconsin and in the Woodbury area of Minnesota. She also recently received the Minnesota COTM award for a really nice series of caches in MN.
I put out a silver ammo can last week to mark, the milestone and was a bit naughty in placing the cache. I could not find an appropriate hidey hole on the side of the creek that I intended, so I decided to ford the creek, and put the cache on the other side of a small stream. Anyway, ya have to cross a small stream to get to it, which in mind just adds to the fun. See GC15KQM for details of the cache.

09/06/2007 at 7:06 pm #1878716I usually only post congrats to the cachers I know and have met, but anyone hitting the big 1K milestone, I make an exception for. 😀
Congratulations on #1000!!!
09/06/2007 at 11:29 pm #1878717Woo Hoo! Way to go! Congratulations!
09/07/2007 at 12:21 am #1878718Well, since we logged a find not long after DOC in which we both crossed a stream to get to the cache, that seems somehow appropriate.
Congratulation, DOC. We have also enjoyed and appreciated some of the caches you’ve placed! Looking forward to finding zuma’s silver ammo can in your honor some day!

09/13/2007 at 10:10 pm #1878720Okay, Zuma!, I forgive you for that early morning drenching. After trying to ford a shallow creek while caching with Lagrac this spring and finding myself up to my crotch in river quicksand on the second step across 8″ of water, electronics precariously held over my head as the “Doc. sucking river monster was tried its best pull me under,” I have been severely leary about river crossings. Good thing DB didn’t sink when he jumped into the creek to grab the silver ammo box – otherwise he’d still be there! Good thing I made it back across the creek in a different spot, too boot! Good creek bottom. Needs more caches over there and alternate parking coords. Like that side of the crick.
09/14/2007 at 2:50 pm #1878721Geez thanks, Zuma.
Da Bloodhound got to act as the travel guide on the Silver Ammo Can Cache hunt. When we got to the parking area I wondered if there was a dry way across the creek. I had seen the “wading” attribute and wondered if that was “red herring.” NO, to both thoughts.
Doc followed behind DB ’cause I can blaze a pretty wide trail – sort of like my dear Friend, Zuma. LOL Finally got to just across from GZ. Doc didn’t want to ford the creek but I would. Hell, I didn’t come that far for a DNF, and I wasn’t about to melt so across I went. Doc soon followed with some noticeable protests and expletives about our mutual friend.
Bagged and tagged, it was now officially over 1000 finds for DOC.
Good work on her part and a lot faster than DB made it.
😀 😀 WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀 😀 -
