I was out this afternoon and letting the dogs take a dip in the river and was just loading them in to the truck when the NPS Ranger truck pulled up. I think that they were just checking the landing. I asked the officers there names and one of them was the Ranger who had been working with the WI. Reviewers and oking caches along the NSR. I told him thanks for all his help on the matter and thanked him for the new cache that Elfdoctors put out here just recently. He said no problem, glad he could help. Not realizing it at the time, I ask if it would be OK to put a cache at the location we were at. He pointed and said over there yes, over there no. The landing is on WI DNR property, but the NPS maintains the landing. He said this would be a great spot for a cache. So that was cool I thought. He said that he has talk to his higher up about letting caches along the river way. He said maybe someday. He tried to point out the hunting for caches and deer hunting was almost the same thing. He said the maybe that they (NPS) could make it a stipulation that all caches had to be in an ammo box and above ground. I told him most are and most are just under a log or in a stump. He said that he would bring it up at their next annual meeting. I guess the problem with the NPS and geocaches is that there is a group up this way distributing porn via caches. Or using caches as a cover. They have recovers a few of these containers with porn in them. So, well see what happens. I’d just thought I share this. It might be in the wrong spot so if it need to be moved, please do so.

    Thanks for the feedback.

All of our dealings with this particular individual at the NPS has been very positive and helpful.

It would be great if more areas along the St. Croix could be opened up to caching. The only area near me that I could put a cache isn’t the prettiest as it is sometimes used as a hangout by area youth. Glad that that reviewer has had a positive experience with geocaching so far. HoweverMy geocache was not a ammo can as I thought it needed to be smaller because of the kids hanging out sometimes.

Why would anyone want to put out porn in a geocache? How do we get the coordinates to those porn caches? 😉
