We’re putting out our own bragging rights. Team BenDigiFu, Benny7210, Digital_Dan & Cache_boppin_BunnyFuFu hit Indiana yesterday. Yup.. we got out here and I decided to give an update to those of you who knew were nuts enough to venture out on such a task.
Thursday 9/20/07 – We left at 0630 from WI and hit our first 2 Earthcaches in Illinois, since Benny7210 needed a new state. We took off for Indiana and proceeded to take on 12 Earthcaches here. After a full day, we decided to hit a few caches after dark and grabbed 6 traditional.
Friday 9/21/07 – Started off at 0700 and hit our first Earthcache at 0705. Managed to attack 20 Earthcaches and one Multi in 12 hrs. Skeeters have been terrible but the scenery has been awesome. So, we have 32 Indiana Earthcaches down and 29 to go.
EarthCaching on through thru Sunday.

Saturday 9/22/07 – got an early start once again and definitely needed it. Earthcaches were a bit more spread apart and needed to get to Southern Indiana today. We were hoping on getting another 20, but had a snag here and there, trying to find access to a couple of the. Managed to get 17 in though. Wrapped the day up in Madison, Indiana, at a reasonable time. Didn’t tell Bob and Bonnie what I was scheming but Dan knew. I had loaded a cpl caches in Kentucky, so we could claim another state. I knew they were tired and I was very nonchalant about even going. I said if they wanted to grab a cpl more…..these were a bit special and “I” really wanted to grab them. Bob asked what was so special and I said, Ummmm…..they are in KY” Well THAT in itself brought up a ton of laughs. so off we went. The only cpl in reasonable distance were cemetery caches. Kinda creepy in the back woods ok Kentucky, let me tell you. Tomorrow we go for the gusto!!
Sunday 9/23/07 – We get an early start today since are literally driving from one end of the state and back home. We ran into issues with entrances again and ended up getting to a couple with hikes of more than a mile, but we did it!!!! Arriving at Elkhart, Indiana around 10p EST. try doing river flowrates on 2 major rivers…..in the dark! LOL We did have some light though. We did it…. all 61 Earthcaches in Indian. We got back to Milwaukee at 1230am and poor Bob and Bonnie got back to Manitowoc at 230am. What an adventure and learn a TON of geological stuff on this trip. We all highly recommend doing something like this!! We can proudly say
We did all 61 Earthcaches in Indiana & put on over 1800 miles…waaaaahoooo!!”
oh….but wait!! Now home and very tired, I make a call to Digital Dan, to see how tired he’s feeling. He gives me a bit of frustrating news. While we were gone, at some point…..another Earthcache got published. I made the call to Benny7210……”Get back in the car, we gotta go back and get the NEW one!!” LOL I knew it would happen…such is life.
09/24/2007 at 10:05 pm #1879236To say that I’m totally impressed (and a little jealous) would be an understatement. So, I know that when one meets the Pope, you’re suppose to kiss his Ring. So the next time I’m in the presence of the Almighty Earthcache Goddess herself, what exactly do I need to kiss? 😀 Outstanding Job!! They’ll need to establish a new Master Level to commemorate your accomplishment!!
09/24/2007 at 10:55 pm #1879237Way to go you guys!!! I could hear the excitement in your voices as I spoke to you on the phone and the fatigue at the end. WTG!!!
09/25/2007 at 5:30 am #1879238Way to go!!! Awesome Job!!!!!

09/25/2007 at 1:52 pm #1879239WOW! That’s it . . . WOW!
09/25/2007 at 5:25 pm #1879240Way to go guys… I thought this was going to be nearly impossible to pull off when I first heard the idea. But it seems that all the pre-planning paid off!
And only 49 states with 1000 Earthcaches left to go! Then you guys can put out a “Climate Change” earthcache (calculate the number of pounds of CO2 generated during the various Team BenDigiFu cache runs, and how many degrees warmer the earth is due to this). 😉
09/25/2007 at 6:43 pm #1879241😛 WOW! 😛
😥 I wasn’t invited….I still need two states to go Platinum status. 😥09/25/2007 at 9:14 pm #1879242@Lostby7 wrote:

Ah just teasin’…like George Thorogood says:
” I cache alone, yeah, with nobody else.
Yeah, you know when I cache alone, I prefer to be by myself.”“Now, every morning, just before breakfast, I don’t want no coffee or tea.
Just me and my good GPSr. That’s all I ever need.”
😉09/25/2007 at 10:21 pm #1879245WE echo all the congrats too… what an awesome job.
