We raised a foster daughter 25 years ago, all the way through middle and high school. Her ensuing years have not been easy, she’s been out of state, recently had near death health problems, etc.

She has recently returned to central WI with her 21, 16, and 10 year old kids. She’s broke, can’t work as she recovers from botched major surgery, and yet doing a pretty decent job with her family. We are the only family she has, and are grandma and grandpa to her kids.

Her 10 year old son is absolutely hooked on geocaching after spending a few days with us after Christmas. He is already finding out it is frustrating to cache hunt without a GPS…

So who has a spare you’d be willing to sell cheap? I’m thinking a basic eTrex which somebody has upgraded to a more sophisticated unit…

Thanks a lot. All offers will be carefully considered!

Pawn shops are a great place to find a cheap working GPSr – especially for a child. DB found one for $60.00 – “Old Blue” that worked great. We ended up selling it to a new cacher for a few dollars more.

I have a Magellan Explorist 300 I could part with. It is a basic unit. It runs on AA’s, and I do not have computer cables, though I have seen them on ebay and the likes. I would part with it for say $20.
