I could have started this as a “Where Were These Photos Taken?” but, with recent interest in Authentic photos I will show some like this with some Historic interest.

A fellow Air Force Buddy sent these to me, taken with an old KODAK BOX CAMERA. Naturally you would have to be old enough to remember your History and maybe even had owned an old Brownie Box Camera. πŸ™„ πŸ™„

Fire on that PBY… and panic..

Another view of that Aircraft. Any Air Force Vets here?

You know, for those photos to come out of something so simply constructed as a box camera (yep, know what they are — Dad collects Kodaks — never have used one though) the pictures are quite stunning.

    OK, Dom…….

My main question is Why are you posting over here? Getting bored with NJ? I know quite a few people who are ‘from’ jersey!!!

Oh, you are welcome to post ‘here’. Just curious.

While the photos were indeed taken during the Pearl Harbor attack, they were not all taken by the same photographer or with a Kodak Box Camera. It’s sort of a partial internet myth that’s been floating around. For more information: http://urbanlegends.about.com/library/bl_pearl_harbor7.htm

    Dom Nizza,

Are you a message board/forum junkie? Do you have a mission to post on as many varied message boards as possible or something???

    – North Jersey.com
    – Helpful Gardener.com
    – Discuss Pittsburg Live – Food and Drink
    – My Community News – Ridgewood
    – Post-gazette.com – Pittsburgh, PA
    – and now Wi-geocaching.com

You are all over the internet! not just on message boards… and it seems you have had this addiction for quite some time! It seems that in a brief bit of searching, I found out all sorts of things about “Dom Nizza” aka Type Writer Guy…

So what drew you to the WGA Forums? Do you know what Geocaching is? Ever been to Wisconsin? Do you know how to pronounce Oconomowoc?

Your posts are interesting but how you got here is even more intriguing…

I see someone else “Googled” Dom besides me. I’ll bet ya beer that he doesn’t even own a GPS’r. He needs to find a friend to share his time with. May I suggest a dog or cat. Or may be a female friend. ❗ ❗

Thanks for asking … I already advised others that asked the same question.. I found a cyber buddy who had an interest in “fishing” (Zane Grey History my favorite) that happened to be a member of your caching group. He posted some photos and information and I followed thru and connected. I post here because I like this Board and being a Sicilian (almost an Indian) many connections taught me how to travel and post.

… If you look closely I’m standing on corner of this building. πŸ™„ .. πŸ™„ As for Oconomowac it’s derived from Coo-no-m0-wauk (Where the waters meet)….You need to be sober to pronounce it. 8) .. 8) It’s either this hobby or chasing girls… at 86 years of age now I better stick to this.. Thanks with putting up with me.
