Recent News in my New Jersey area on the possible buiding of “The World’s Largest Ferris Wheels” has some local objections. My sons in Texas (where they do everything big).. said they have the Largest at the Texas Star Dallas State Fair.

This one is 575 feet .. you are not getting me up there!

I prefer this one Just for the Kids.
Any others out there? How tall? And Where? …
The London Eye, owned by British Airways, is supposed to be the world’s tallest. I’ve ridden that thing twice. Originally it was just intended to be a Millennium thing, but it made more money for British Airways than air travel, so they’ve kept it going!

The “London Eye is a big one… looks like this.
This one is only 443 Feet I believe… Anyone else?
.
The largest in North America is the Texas Star in Dallas — it is a mere 65 meters. For comparison:
The Wheel at Navy Pier in Chicago is “only” 46 m. (I have been on it and it is plenty big!)
The original ferris wheel at the 1892 Chicago World’s Fair was 80 m.
The London Eye is 135 m
The Chinese are building what will be the worlds largest in Beijing: 208 m, or around 650 feet high.
Most of the bigguns are in the Far east: China, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore.
