Today after I finished with my second bunch of first grade readers, one of my little friends asked me:

“Is your geocaching name Birdin’ and something?”

“Yes, it is. Were you out geocaching or something?”

“Yeah, I saw your picture on the computer when we put the stuff in that we found! You have 100 3 thousand finds! We only have 36!”

(We’re currently at 1363; the first grade curriculum doesn’t go beyond 2-3 places for place value! )

I told her that once upon a time, we only had 36, too.

I thought it was kind of cute that she recognized me from the photo. If you’ve seen our latest, I’m sure it’s making for great playground conversation now!
