Because of another thread, I’m curious how many of you use the WGA logo on your cache pages. So, do you? If not, why not?
BTW: I use them on all of mine.
04/01/2008 at 3:55 pm #1887086I indicated “No” … as I don’t use the LOGO, but I do have the scrolling marque link … mainly because it takes less space (since my caches are always so wordy they way it is).
04/01/2008 at 4:13 pm #1887087There are a couple I did not use the logo—out of state placements. However, a couple other out of state placements included it, it sort of depended on the circumstances of the placement.
Of the 29 we have, all but two have it.
04/01/2008 at 4:16 pm #1887088Haven’t done a full inventory but most of mine should have it.
The logo is how I learned about the group and life would just not be any fun without checking the forums here every day.
04/01/2008 at 4:46 pm #1887089I just started doing it, and have put the logo on all of my caches now. Hopefully, it raises the awareness of this group!
04/01/2008 at 10:34 pm #1887090All of my caches have the logo. It helps to get the word out!
04/02/2008 at 1:00 am #1887091I have just started adding the logo to my cache pages. None of my early caches have the logo (yet) and this was due to the fact that I had no html experience when I placed them. I will add it as I do maintenance visits.
I have been including it now on new caches for the past several months, now that I kow how to do it. At this point, these logos on the cache pages is the best advertising that the WGA has, so I hope all people use it. If you are not using it because you are html illiterate as I was, just ask for help, because it is not that hard.

04/02/2008 at 1:28 am #1887092I discovered today how EASY it is! I had the same problem zuma! did. I just did not know how! Thanks to Anne putting the link in a posting, I figured it out and added them to all of my cache pages.

I try to post that little WGA sign on my new caches. How to do that, can be found “HERE” or click on the WGA menu to the left, under Wiki. The only thing I found frustrating is that when I put it into existing cache pages, it shifts all the test to a left justification. I am not sure if including it as a comment to the approver, on a new cache submission, to put it in “such & such” a place on your cache page, if the approver can change the page setup so things don’t shift. Maybe they can fix that issue on existing cache pages too……I just never asked

04/02/2008 at 2:30 pm #1887096Yes.
While we have less than a dozen caches it is on each one of them.
The reason, when I started out building cache pages, that was the first HTML graphic I incorporated as I really didn’t have any other graphics to use. (I also understand the importance of supporting WGA and providing a Link on your cache listing.)
I was so happy to see the WGA logo work, that I was encourage to explore other things. I recall my joy when I figured out how to put text in bold and from there learned about Photo Bucket, etc.
The result was WSQ B-17 Navigator in the Granite Orchard. our first cache. That however took quite a bit of work to do, and to set up the page, and all the waypoints. So it was a good learning tool.
So, once you figure out how to add the WGA logo that pretty much opens the door for the other stuff.

Just copy and paste the following into your cache description. You will also need to check the box marked “The descriptions below are in HTML”.
