Yesterday, in stormy weather, not far from the shores of Lake Michigan, Trekkin’ and birdin’ became the latest team to complete the Wisconsin DeLorme Challenge. Well, they wisely chose not to actually dodge lightning in the process and were able to finish their final page and return safely home. Congratulations Gwyn and Dick, on this well-earned milestone and the terrain you trekked in for most of that journey!

Congrats! You’ve achieved a big milestone. I have only been able to get slightly more than half the pages done.

What do you plan to do for your next big goal?

Jeepers! CONGRATULATIONS! I know this is an achievement you have had your eyes on for a while now and it should feel great to reach this tough milestone!

Congratulations, again! Perhaps now you can take a much needed break. Or, perhaps not! 😯 8)

Congratulations guys! The DeLorme is really a nice way to see the state completely from top to bottom. So what’s next on the agenda?

Allow me to add my congrats. Way to Gwyn and Dick. I hope you enjoyed the DeLorme as much I did. As Seth said, it is a great way to see every corner of this great state.

When do you plan on starting on the MN or Iowa De Lorme? Both will be handy to you, and Iowa is a lot easier than Wisconsin. I havent yet started the MN DeLorme, but hope to soon, and it looks like quite a challenge.

Congrats Dick and Gwyn on this impressive feat! It was just a little over a year from your 100th find to this DeLorme completion and nearly 2K cache finds. Wow!

Did you remember to grab all the counties during your travels, or did you leave a few as an excuse to revisit some parts of the state later?

Thanks everyone. Jeremy, we’d mapped out this great route to get the counties over there too, then the storms hit. So….we’ll just have to go back and do our intended route sometime this summer! We missed a couple other counties along the way, but will be getting those eventually.

Our next challenge? Not gonna be another Delorme, we know that! We want to finish up zuma’s Northwestern 12-Pack and we’ve come really, really close to having everything in our 50 mile radius. Yesterday, we just had an event, a cache that’s been disabled since the end of 2006 cause it’s missing, and one cache left. We kind of, sort of have a goal to get all the 5/5s in the state. We’ve got four of them. I think there’s maybe 10 or so?

The Broken Dam ( GCW9KE ) in Oconomowoc is a 5/5. I plan to do it for my 2,000th find. I better get going though unless I want to first break through the ice to find this underwater cache.

I have to amend that. Neither of us is SCUBA certified, so those are not available to us. Has that one been affected by these recent storms?

We’re pretty much set to go after bandit’s Skeleton Keys and the two that follow that, so those will be our next 5/5s. Sagasu’s, well, I keep picking away at that one, no hurry! LOL
