We were over in Isinours MN today, helping DOC. and accordiongal plant a whole mess of permanent caches in the forest uint there. Lots of new caches to find over there next Saturday!
Anyway, on our way out, relaxing on the side of the highway, next to a waypoint for one of Jean’s Earthcaches, was this guy…..

When you see the lions and tigers, start running!

How about badgers? I had a log on one of my caches that there was a badger poking it head out of a hole near the cache. That would be almost as scary as running into a bear.
Cool! Whenever I see something like that (and that’s not too often) I never have a camera with me.
Saw the same thing times 2 today on our way to a fake gift cache I set out for my dad for Father’s Day. And once again, didn’t have a camera! Seems like it is becoming a regular event with us. No camera caching = Kodak wildlife moment!! 🙄
Michelle, That’s usually my guarantee of an amazing sighting, too. These last couple times, I just was lucky. Maybe to make up for the bazillion times I wasn’t.
Yes, we have seen a badger en route to a cache, over near Houston MN. You have to take a switchback road to the top of the ridge, and at the turn, there’s all this typical rock stuff on the bluff. Since we were going about 10MPH, I could see this face looking out at us from a small den. We stopped and watched until it turned around and waddled in. Fun!
Now that is real foxy. A real Renard.
I saw a fox in my back yard near Mountain twice this last week. Very dark gray on the hind quarters yet. Must still be a Winter coat? Got to watch it for close to 20 minutes total.
I stand corrected kind of….it was without a doubt a Gray Fox! It was eating black sunflower seeds of all things.
