I headed out on a cruise with Cheeto this morning so he could land a milestone cache. Despite the tip into the water it was a Cache I will not soon forget, as I am sure he will not either.
Congrats Cheeto
See the logs here GC16W5J

07/06/2008 at 8:10 pm #1891816Nice choice for the milestone!! Congrats, you know the dip in the water was a necessity to make the milestone a little more memorable 😀

07/06/2008 at 10:23 pm #1891817Way to go! Cograts! Great log and pics.
No one remembers the easy ones…
TBC07/06/2008 at 10:26 pm #1891818Yep, well done…looks like I will need to bring my kayaks back up to the area for another milestone.
07/06/2008 at 11:04 pm #1891819It was a good time but in the future I think I will take the role of moral support. Unless I am guaranteed a glass like finish on the lake.
07/07/2008 at 12:52 am #1891820Way to go Cheeto. Congrats on .6K!!!!!
Keep on having Fun!!

We enjoyed reading both Hemi’s and Cheeto’s logs.
Bring that storied canoe out to GC13DCV (in the LGC) so we can watch from our porch. Sounds entertaining.
We did the Five-Oh paddle in an ocean kayak in Mexico once. The Blondie Bloodhound lost her watch and I lost my sunglasses.
When it works it’s a lot of fun……but when it doesn’t you still get an interesting underwater view! YIKES!
Keep a weather eye on the horizon.
07/08/2008 at 5:53 pm #1891824Congrats again, Shane! Glad we had that chance encounter on the trail of a couple good ones just before the milestone. Fun log, wish I would have been able to watch!
07/10/2008 at 3:39 am #1891825Hey, can that be a new “Fav Fishin’ Spot”? Fishin’ for Cheeto and Hemi?
Congrats on the milestone and on the great adventure you had to get it!
07/10/2008 at 8:17 pm #1891826Congratulations -cheeto-
Thanks for choosing our cache to search for the milestone. You didn’t say in your log if the GPS got wet!
Does Hemi get an assist for his support role?
07/10/2008 at 8:30 pm #1891827Yes the GPS got wet but its a Garmin so it survived.
07/10/2008 at 11:00 pm #1891828I opted to leave my Garmin in the truck since Hemi brought his too. Didn’t want to risk too much equipment to the river, though when I think about it, we should have risked mine, it’s cheaper to replace.
My camera took the dunk and survived.
Interestingly, my cell phone did not. I think it was coincidence though and that’s my story and I stuck to it as I asked for a replacement 🙂 It was acting funny anyway so I chalked it up to that rather than it’s brief swim in the Fox.
I will not soon forget challenging the mighty Winnebago in a canoe.
Thanks for the congrats everyone.
Onto 700.
Shane
