Thanks to everyone who came for helping make my first event a huge success. 27 teams and a total of 58 geocachers attended. After downing 90 hotdogs and a huge birthday cake they hit the fields and trails in groups and found a dozen caches placed for the event. Thanks to Tami and Ryan for helping to keep it a secret when we were at an event together a few weeks ago. Planning the event was easy, but I still don’t know how we managed to keep it a secret from Sunshine for two months. Special thanks to OPPS5 (our daughter and family) for doing everything that I couldn’t without exposing what we were planning. Sunshine said this will definitely be her most memorable birthday ever. The enthusiasm of all who attended will definitely be inspiration for me to do another event sometime in this great park. This was the perfect prelude to our trip to Oconto County this weekend where we’ll be logging find #1000.
