I was just cruising the recommended caches for ideas. Here’s the deal. We’ll be at 2500 in 18 more caches. Trekkin’ and I have to go different directions this weekend, so we want to hit it before then. In other words, tomorrow or Thursday.
We’re road weary after…
1)Mackinac
2)Lyme disease
3)Geobash…plus we have to travel again in a couple days.
We like the tough ones in the woods, with views or cool things to see along the way. What can people suggest on our side of the state, say from Highway 12 south and maybe as far east as Madison? Closer is better, though. Minnesota or Iowa are possibilities, too, but we kinda want this one in Wisconsin.
I just checked the first page of my PQ for 4 terrain and up and we have all but that talll tree in EauClaire already. We also want to grab the final for zuma’s 12 Pack soon, so anything toward that county park is worth considering. It doesn’t HAVE to be 4 terrain and up, just giving you an idea of the stuff we like.
P.S. If your suggestion is a 4 difficulty 4.5 terrain, that would be just peachy! But not necessary, we’ll find one of those, too!
08/12/2008 at 11:09 pm #1894375Any one of my puzzles would fit the bill!
08/12/2008 at 11:12 pm #1894376Yeah, but out of our range after all that driving right now. Maybe for 3000! LOL
Hey wait, you don’t have many puzzles that take long wilderness hikes. We still like your puzzles, marc.
Did I just say that? 😯
08/12/2008 at 11:36 pm #1894377I was going to try to find the hardest cache I could for Trekkin’ in the Port Washington area so he can get Ozaukee County next weekend, but that would be a little to late.
How about the Northwoods 12 pack, I suspect you two may have some of those done already08/13/2008 at 12:06 am #1894378We only need to get the final for that one, Dean. You can still give Trekkin’ a hard one in Ouzakee County, but we want to get this one together, before we have to go our separate ways over the weekend on Friday.
I think we found something, though it’s in Minnesota. It’s a toughie, been out since the end of July without a finder yet (highly motivating for Trekkin’!) and there are letterboxes in the area, too. It is in an area where we haven’t cached before, so we don’t know the hiding patterns there. Our backup is to get the 12 pack final on Thursday otherwise. Which, we’ll probably get it anyway then, if we’re not totally ready to park the car.
For the record, I’m getting really tired of driving all over at this point. We need to do more hiking and less driving! LOL

08/13/2008 at 12:48 am #1894380Am I dreaming? Where did it go?????? I know you’d posted something else! This sport is getting to me!

08/13/2008 at 1:53 am #1894382we are a long way behind T&B but we have #1000 in mind it will be in Germany
08/13/2008 at 2:21 am #1894383shrek and fiona, that’s a great way to mark that milestone for sure. Can’t get Trekkin’ on anything airborne, doggone it.
When is your trip? Do you have a certain cache picked out for that one?
08/13/2008 at 2:39 am #1894384Ya know, there is a milestone worthy destination earthcache with a hike at the Effigy Mounds…..Might be something you should look into!!! 😆 I’m saving that one for my 2000 – if I ever get there….!
08/13/2008 at 3:30 am #1894385Don’t think we can log that one, Doc.! LOL
08/14/2008 at 2:59 am #1894386We suck. Couldn’t even find the first stage, in spite of almost an hour and a half of hard searching. I wonder how many people haven’t logged their DNFs for it. So tomorrow we’re off to find our alternative choice.
Which should be fun. Cause we know we can find it. Cause we’ve found lots of them hidden by this guy!
08/14/2008 at 5:00 pm #1894387How about “Lord of the Rings: A Journey through Middle Earth”?
Ten stages – take your ATV!
P.S. Watchout -time and critters have moved a few of the stages!
08/15/2008 at 1:16 am #1894388maybe I should sneek away from work and plant some more I got some new areas in mind
