Looks like Delorme is making an improved version of their PN-20 GPS. This info is a bit over a month old, but it was the first time I had seen anything about it so i thought I would share.

08/17/2008 at 9:03 pm #1894560From what I’ve read online about the PN-20 the only way to load waypoints to these units so far is using Delorme topo 6 or 7. I’m sure this unit is in the exact same boat. You can export a file from GSAK for Delorme topo, but you would still need Delorme Topo installed for it to work. maybe when more people have these delorme units GSAK or EasyGPS will support these units better.
Delorme does support geocacaching waypoints on these units with an 800 character text limit per waypoint. here is a nice walk through of getting your caches onto this unit.

08/18/2008 at 3:49 am #1894561Exactly correct, Hogrod. I have a PN-20 and Love/Hate it. The extra steps to get waypoints from GSAK to the PN-20 are a real pain. For one or two caches at a time, it’s just not worth the effort. The new PN-40 looks like it’s going to start out with the exact same features as the PN-20.
The good new is that the PN-40 might have enough horsepower to add the features that the PN-20 is just too under-powered to handle such as decent waypoint managment (something like cachemate).09/12/2008 at 9:46 pm #1894562Delorme posted today that this new model will be out mid-October. They also announced besides releasing the PN-40 with 1gb of internal memory they will be releasing a PN-40SE model with 8gb of internal memory.
If I remember right both of these models support SD cards up to 32gb, but the internal memory is MUCH faster.

I noticed tigergps is selling a refurbished PN-20(the older model) for $169 with the Delrome topo 7 and card reader. The maps alone are usually $99, so this is a great deal.
