In case you missed the unofficial announcement, cache hiding for the Geo-Picnic will take place this Sunday, August 24th starting at 9am. We will be meeting at the Evergreen Grove Picnic Area at Lapham Peak (N43 02.419′ W088 24.201′), and will be using the small open shelter there if it is available. There will be someone at this “base” location until noon or later, so you don’t have to be there right at 9.

We are also allowing a limited number of people to place temporary caches for the event after the official hiding day. So if you have ideas for a creative temp cache or two and can’t make it to the park Sunday, but can get your caches out before September 6th, let me or one of the other Board members know. It would be best if we knew before Sunday how many people were going to be hiding caches at a later date so we can save space in the park for them.

Our goal is to have maybe 30 quality temporary caches in the park for folks to hunt (definitely not more than is humanly possible to find in a day like we had at the campout :))… along with the 10 or so permanent caches in the park, the other geocaching related games and activities we are planning, and the FOOD and socializing, everyone should have plenty to keep them entertained.
