I was with mentor labrat_wr today as he marked 800 finds. A virtual cache is a dying breed and an unlikely milestone, but that’s where the number came up today. It is significant in that we found ourselves on older roads at one of the official Wisconsin Markers, also a less visited part of Wisconsin’s heritage in the era of superhighways that take us away from the smaller waysides of a more relaxed pace in life. The marker we visited gave tribute to POWs, and the moment of reflection and atmosphere at this stop was a nice contrasting break to the activity of the day.
