I am wondering why pages in some of the bookmark listings are repeated over and over? I have looked specifically at the Cache Rescue list and the Iceage Trail Caches list. I noticed that lists that may be pages long seem to have this problem(?) more than shorter lists.
I have tried looking at these lists for some caches to do, but I have to admit that when I keep seeing the same caches page after page after page, I get discouraged and exit the bookmarks. What gives with this?
10/09/2008 at 9:09 pm #1896853bookmark lists seem to time out if you don’t keep going to the next or previous pages. Say you look at the list for the LCG find cache that you want to take a look at. Now you’re done looking at the cache page so you click the back button. If you attempt to go to the next page in the listing it will only show you the list for the page that you were on…..not sure what the timeout period is, but it does get annoying.
10/09/2008 at 10:52 pm #1896854This is a known bug that Groundspeak doesn’t seem to be able to fix. I would suggest you send a complaint to [email protected]…..4 times a day…..and get all your friends to do the same…..and for that matter anyone else.
10/10/2008 at 12:13 am #1896855When ever I run into this problem, I just exit and go some place else.
Seems to come up when you are going thru a lot of pages in one session.
10/10/2008 at 12:56 am #1896856I read somewhere that if you set it to display 50 caches instead of 20(?) it helps, not guaranteed but helps.

This happens to me even on the WGA site.
labrat_wr, I did change my settings from 20 to 50 and that did help. Not a complete fix, but much better.
I am not all that computer literate to begin with so I thought perhaps things were messed up on my end. I’m glad to see that it’s not me.
I currently don’t go to these lists much at all, but every once in a while I’ll try to check them out. I want to understand this problem a bit more so that I am not quite so frustrated when I would really put these lists to good use. I guess for the time being I’ll take marc’s advice and “just exit and go some place else”. And yes Team Deejay, I’ll also send a complaint.
Thanks for the insight. Anybody else can chime in.
10/10/2008 at 9:40 pm #1896858I have seen this “bug” much more in the past. After one of the more recent GC.com updates I didn’t see it at all for awhile. I have not seen it at all using Google Chrome. Wonder if it’s a browser specific issue?? The most common place I’ve seen it in the past is the LCG bookmark lists and browsing through them using Internet Explorer.
I too saw better luck with expanding the Bookmark list to a larger number of caches. It’s just one of those things. If you follow the Release notes each time on the GC forums and all of the ensuing responses and responses to those responses you will see where their focus is for new releases. This bug is probably on page 2,754 of their list.
Now if only I had an I-phone….
