Thanks to some hard work behind the scenes, a manufacturer has been selected for this year’s Wisconsin geocoin, samples of the coin have been produced, and all the other little details have been worked out.
We are now accepting pre-orders for the coin (in the WGA Store) through November 11, which should allow plenty of time to get them manufactured and shipped before Christmas / the holidays. The price is the same as last year, $9 per coin, and in many cases shipping costs are lower. In case you forgot, the coin this year is cow shaped and looks like this:

Visit the WGA Store to order yours:
More information can be found in this FAQ post:

Also, I wanted to add that the coin is 2 1/4 inches wide at its widest point. It is black nickel with imitation hard enamel.

Jim, we will also be offering a limited edition that arrives in a leatherette pouch, is encrusted with cubic zirconia, plated with fools gold, and comes complete with a certificate of authenticity from the Franklin (Guangzhou, China) Mint. (NOT! :))
10/27/2008 at 9:45 pm #1897260shouldn’t that be–moo-nique?
10/28/2008 at 1:26 am #1897261Can we know who is making them?

First things first, The Coin looks great.
Now my sense of humor led me to think of Jerry Mcguire in the living hearing, “You had me at Enamel, you had me at enamel”
Sorry if it sounded like I was ripping on the coin.

Also a huge thank you to TeamLightenBugs for all her work in developing the coin design and doing all of the necessary footwork to make this possible.
And also a huge thank you to Jeremy, our web guru who made the WGA store interface look nice, and work perfectly. I just bought mine, and am really looking forward to getting these nice coins in my hands.

10/28/2008 at 12:14 pm #1897265I found the enamel joke rather humorous…
I bought one for the kids. I think they will enjoy this coin.
Excellent job to everyone involved!

10/28/2008 at 1:40 pm #1897267For those brave enough…..
Head on over to the forums at geocaching.com, and post about our latest geocoin.
This will help keep it on the “top” of the forums over there.
Thanks!
