Seldom|Seen, which is kind of amazing considering that 5% of the caches on the list are his, putting him at a bit of a disadvantage. Alex wins a City of Greenfield Parks geocoin donated by Sagasu. Also, putting in a good performance were JimAndLinda, coming in a close second in their first foray into the competition. I suppose I should have warned them about the guile and chicanery practiced by certain Fox Citizens, as they were leading until the very last minute, when a flurry of late postings dropped them into second.
For December, the prize is an Ansel Adams Box Camera Coin, donated by Seldom|Seen.
12/06/2008 at 3:21 am #1898690Don’t feel bad! I was warned by several others! 😆
Congrats to s/s on a flurry of runs. We did end up following each other for a bit. I think we both knew the snow would be flying soon and there were a few I wouldn’t want to tackle in snowcover. And thanks to jjcool719 on teaming up one day.
The June flooding caused a few more replacements than usual, as those Lonely Caches hit the list this time around.
It was alot of fun and some very challenging caches are no longer lonely!
This is a unique variation on the sport and I hope others give it a try, competitive or not.
See you in Appleton on January 17th!
12/06/2008 at 3:22 am #1898691Congratulations Seldom|Seen and Congratulations JimandLinda for the great effort put into the month and racking up the 4th highest point total for a month pushing Alex to score the 2nd highest point total. Well done to all.

12/06/2008 at 6:13 am #1898692Great race for November, and congrats to all the contenders! I was betting on JimandLinda early on, but even I was surprised by the outcome for the month. Should have known better. Congrats to both Jim and Alex for the amazing photo finish and live entertainment.
As I watched the race from closer to home I thought wistfully about the open door for December, but now that it’s here…. yikes, it’s snowing again tonight.
12/06/2008 at 9:01 pm #1898693Congrats on the big win, and the big numbers. Way to go. Also thanks for keeping the LCG going and improving cache quality for all of us, which I think is the great thing about the LCG.

12/06/2008 at 9:25 pm #1898695Thanks guys. If it wasn’t for aspects of the sport that some might consider a little “sneaky”, it just wouldn’t be as fun for me. I set a personal challenge to push this last month with the 3, count them 3, overnight and 1 following day caching opportunities that opened up. Besides the already challenging set of circumstances to find these lonliess, I get the added challenge of going after the majority of them in the dark. Anybody who’s night cached knows the difference it can make trying to spot a simple tree-hanger at 2am.
Anyway, it sure was a fun month for me as my mid-month thought of posting a couple hundred point to give the leader a little scare turned into a real opportunity to win when another opportunity presented. And that’s when I went into overdrive. My goal was to reach 500, but I hit a number of snags that resulted in a goodly number of points not making the cut. If if had worked out, my tally would have been around 490 points. So close…
I know how much work the 2nd place contender put in this past month and completely understand the sting of having me come sneaking up behind without warning. I’ve been there before myself.
That’s probably going to be about it for me for the year. Of couse I’ve said that before, but now I have some real constraints that are going to be tough to overcome. Just putting that out there to let the rest of you know the last month is anybody’s game as the 2 all time leaders are going to be very quiet until the event in Jan.
I hope most of you will be able to make it to the Only the Lonely Can Play event and I am personally going to go through my stack of finds to recount some of my more incredible stories to share with the rest of you…
Like the time I was looking for a huge white bucket hanging in a tree at head height – certainly as visible as a Maple-tappers bucket in daylight yet hit my head on it as I stood up – tired of the fruitless hunt on the ground below it with my weak flashlight…
12/14/2008 at 7:36 pm #1898696Getting tired of having what I felt were legitimate points called into question for November, I am conceding the win to JimandLinda. It is not worth the sly libalous remarks showing up in other caches. So congratulations, guys, I know you worked hard for it.
12/14/2008 at 8:23 pm #1898697It doesn’t matter whether you WIN or LOSE, it’s HOW YOU PLAY THE GAME. I’m still learning and enjoying. The Lonely Caches are the most scenic.
That is reward enough. 🙂
